How often do you check ingredients on the products before you buy them to put them on your and your loved ones plates?
Maybe and I also hope that after watching this documentary, you’ll be much more careful with the things you eat:
I watched it again with my boyfriend ❤ a couple of days ago and he inspired me to write about it on my blog so more people can find out about it. I think he had a brilliant idea! ☺
I’d like to encourage you also to take action on their website to sign the petitions (they put there) which are good for us and our children (in the future) 😊.
I won’t write about this documentary “Food, Inc.” (trailer), because it says it all, so it’s good to just spare some time and watch it.
“If you don’t take care of your body, where are you going to live?”
What I do?
Every time I’m at the store, I look at the ingredients before I put the product into my cart. The easiest thing is to see if the names of the ingredients you can pronounce. If not, then I’m 99,9% sure that is bad stuff and also, the word “modified” is the worst.
For me, less is better (everywhere).
How to eat healthy?
Just (first buy and) keep healthy food in your fridge. When it’s time to cook something, you open your fridge and there’s no way you’ll eat unhealthy 😊.
Also, try not to eat outside (you don’t know what they put or how they cook the meal you’re about to eat). What we realized with my boyfriend ❤ is that we only ate three times outside (at the restaurants) through the whole last year (we didn’t count the times when we were with our friends out, but that didn’t happen as often either).
What we do, we cook together and that’s the best way, not only for our stomachs, but also for our hearts 😃❤.
Watch out, we’ve been already talking about writing our own cookbook 😆.
Eye opening video! I am becoming increasingly aware of the harmful things found in day to day food. I used to eat tinned tomatoes almost every day until I found out that the tins were lined with a chemical that leaks due to the acid in the tomatoes and is a carcinogen, scary x
I know, when I heard this about tomatoes, it was scary for me too. Well, it’s good to know such things anyway ☺.
I’ve watched it and it is a really interesting documentary! It makes me mad how some food is actually legal to sell with the amount of crap in it! 🙁
Exactly, I agree with you!
Dear Ula,
Nowadays nearly all kind of food is processed in factories and to give it a nice outlook and even keep it looking fresh after a certain amount of days they simply add some stuff to it, artificial stuff to reach their goal. I must say that I am happy to be a vegetarian because we vegis always have to look to the ingredients carefully and by this we can also avoid taking stuff that surely is not good for our health. Unfortunately not everything what a foodstuff contains is also listed on the content-list. In Europe they have quite strict food-stuff regulations, so that at least you can orientate yourself a bit better. For example gene-manipulted stuff is not really welcome in Europe.
Thanks for sharing, dear Ula.
All good wishes and hugs

Hey, there! That’s a very interesting post, it has given me some food for thought! I’ve been trying to cook more when I’m home, always check what I’m buying at the supermarket and avoid eating out, so I always bring my lunch to work. 🙂
Have a great week!
And that’s great ☺, very good for you! ☺ Thank you and you as well! ☺
So true.
Great BLOG, and I concur. I’m always reading the ingredient labels; and, I have my go-to places for grocery shopping that sell quality foods. I also have found that cooking my own meals is much healthier; because, I don’t use salt, butter, nor other ingredients that I deem as, “unhealthy.” If I do go out to a restaurant, I also have my go-to restaurants that I feel have higher standards in the quality of foods they prepare. By the way, galumpkes (sp?) are one of my favorite dishes — my former girlfriend is Polish; and, I really enjoy all the foods, especially, during Christmas — the herring is also a favorite of mine, too. I am reading your other BLOGs, now. Cheers.
Wow!!
What an amazing post! Thank you for sharing!
I am so heedful of what goes into my cart, until I can spend hours reading labels and pondering how to diversify my family’s diet. I love preparing healthy, living, fresh, colorful foods.
How beautiful it is to prepare a meal with a loved one! That thought makes my heart smile! And carry on with that cookbook!!!!
Thank you so so much!!! ☺
Greetings simple Ula! You are most welcome! It’s a pleasure to see you and feel your beautiful presence in this space! I appreciate you. 🙂 xx
Awww, thank you so much!!! ☺
Por nada! Wishing you a beautiful Sunday!
Same to you! ☺ 🌼 ☺
Thank you kindly, love!!!
I get this error… The video contains content from Magnolia, who has blocked it in your country on copyright grounds. I found another trailer for Food Inc.. sounds like an interesting film.

I ran into same problem— definitely agree with the message in the post!
Thank you so much Ruby! ☺ Maybe try to find the video on YouTube or Netflix ☺🌹
Wonderful post! Food Inc is what got me started on the realities of our food system here. Also, great suggestions too! I’m currently in a holistic nutrition class that’s going over the importance of checking ingredients and being mindful of the various additives and preservatives. Really enjoyed this! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for reading and visiting! ☺
Disgusted with Monsanto and that they have the FDA in their “back pocket”. Two links for you and your readers – https://partneringwitheagles.wordpress.com/2013/11/07/point-blank-this-insanity-has-to-be-stopped/
Type “Monsanto” in the search box for an avalanche of info.

Had already seen it and it is indeed a great eye-opener, should be used in schools, health centres etc…thanks for your follow too, greatly appreciated!
I agree!
Definitely right all the way Ula.
Foods are an on going experiment for some companies, they only find out some things are bad for you when they have many cases on their hands or it’s too late for some.
Very informative post.
Unfortunately. Thank you! ☺
I prefer home cookin to restaurants any day!
👍☺🌼
AWESOME! U write Best…
Nice piece of information ! 🙂
Thank you! 🙂
Im curious to know, because i have been hearing from various people that a blog should be specified. Howeever , i see my blog being much like yours. Just full or rich truth and positve perspective. Do you have one main direction or topic for your blog. Thank you for sharing by the way.
I don’t agree with those people. That’s your blog and you can write whatever you want to write about, just stay true to yourself.
“If you don’t take care of your body, where are you going to live?” true very true. Have you ever heard of the Charmides of Plato? It’s from the 2nd century BC, where it’s written “..that as you ought not to attempt to cure the eyes without the head, or the head without the body, so neither ought you to attempt to cure the body without the soul; and this,’ he said, ‘is the reason why the cure of many diseases is unknown to the physicians of Hellas, because they are ignorant of the whole, which ought to be studied also; for the part can never be well unless the whole is well.’
Not only Ancient Greece was concerned about it, Traditional Chinese Medicine has a lot to offer to know more about the importance of nutrition. We wrote about it, in case you want to take a look 🙂

👍
That’s a great documentary. We watched it and it’s still on my Netflix list to be watched again. I always read labels, try to avoid chemicals, and eat/serve/grow organic/local as much as possible. It’s important to me that my children know how to eat as healthy as possible. Also, that they can use their power as consumers and citizens to push for healthier standards overall.
Great post, Hun, and great blog! Best to you in all you do!
Thank you so much and that’s great what you’re doing! ☺🌹
Everyone needs to watch this video, very informative and with such an excellent message. We all are aware of what goes on with the food supply, but this video needs to have as much exposure as possible. Capitalist food is designed to make a massive profit to the owners not to give healthy nutritious food to the general public. Greed is the reason food is unhealthy these days. After watching this video, I had this question in mind, what do these people in power eat if they are just not so concerned about the public health over money? Thanks for sharing such a well-written article, Ula.
Thank you for stopping by!
As someone with food allergies I found cooking at home allowed me to eat what I wanted because I could make it gluten or dairy free. Cuz let’s face it, they sneak allergens in where they don’t need to be! Much like all the hormones and pesticides and other stuff they put into our food. So when u think about how much u pay to eat out and it’s not even the same quality as what u buy at home? It even more worth it to cook yourself!
Exactly, I agree with you 100%! ☺🌹
Hi Ula! Thank you for the follow, so glad you found me so I can follow back, lots of interesting stuff on your blog. I am actually just getting ready to do a food blog as well after binge-watching netflix the last few nights with my husband on food documentaries. The one you mentioned above we’ll now add to our list! The one that got me fired up the most was “what the health” -so much so, that I need to do that blog post I have been wanting to do about food….all of us together can help shed light on this life changing topic:) Thanks for sharing!
That’s wonderful and thank you! ☺🌷
Ugh…I think I lost 5 to 10 pounds after watching Food, Inc. 🙂 OMG-GMO is another amazing show on what to eat and what not to eat.
I’ll check it out, thank you! ☺🌻
Hello! Bonjour! I entirely agree with you and your conception of “good health eating”! I read the composition of the products I buy. I ‘m used to buy organic food, as anytime as posible, or fair trade (and local) production. I don’t “trust” the food we can find in restaurants. So when I go out to spare time with friends and family, and to eat, I go to 2 or 3 places where I went, I know they cook good products. xoxo
Sorry, my English is not perfect!
Your English is good! ☺ And I’m happy you agree with me! ☺🌹
