The Benefits of Composite Bonding for Teeth

Dental bonding involves using a tooth colored resin to improve a person’s smile, and the special hardening process enables the resin to bond perfectly with the tooth, ensuring a stable fitting. This innovative treatment can be used for discolored teeth and to repair chipped or broken teeth, and with modern composite materials, the finished product will remain intact for a long time.

  • Root Protection

Composite bonding can be used to fill a cavity that threatens the root, and if done correctly, no one would ever know. Sometimes, gum disease causes the gums to recede and composite bonding can create a straighter line between the teeth and gums, which greatly enhances a person’s appearance. If you happen to live in Tewantin, there are excellent Noosa dentists who are experts in composite teeth bonding, and after an initial examination, the dentist would discuss your options and help you to achieve your goals.

  • An Alternative to Crowns

In some cases, composite bonding is preferred over the traditional crown, and is more affordable. Crowns must be manufactured in a lab, while composite bonding is done in the clinic, and by removing the least amount of tooth enamel, the process is non-invasive and causes no damage. When you search online, you can find an informative article that looks at the various ways composite bonding is used in cosmetic dentistry.

  • Slight Cosmetic Improvements

If a person had one front tooth a little longer than the other, this can be very noticeable, and it is natural for the person to feel this is a negative aspect of their appearance, and with composite bonding, it is possible to create a small addition to the shorter tooth, balancing things out. If you would like to know more about this topic, there is a complete guide to cosmetic dentistry that has a lot of useful information for the person who wishes to enhance their appearance that you can check. You can also talk to your dentist about this.

  • Gaps Between Teeth

Although this is not usually an issue, some people are very self-conscious of a gap between their front teeth, and a skilled dentist can remove this using composite bonding. By creating a bridge of identical color, the gap would no longer be visible, and with careful sculpting, the dentist can make it look like the two teeth meet perfectly.

  • No Anaesthetic

More often than not, there is no need to administer anaesthetic, which many patients prefer, and there is little preparation work needed for composite bonding.

The success of composite bonding very much depends on the skills of the dentist, which is why you should look for a clinic that specializes on this type of treatment, and with the latest materials and some hands-on experience, the results will likely exceed your expectations. Many people are unaware that composite bonding can conceal ugly gaps and give your teeth a straighter appearance, and by seeking out the right clinic, you might be surprised at what can be achieved.

  1. Teeth are so much more than just for eating. They can add or take away from our smiles if they are not properly cared for. The cosmetic advice provided above are great ways to help improve our smiles. Some of us are blessed with great smiles while others like myself have to work on them. No shame in that! 🙂 Thanks for sharing.

  2. As a german it is normal to go to a dentist. Our basic insurance do not pay the cosmetics things to teeth. How ever, you can have insurance to everything in germany. And we realy need 🙂

  3. I had my dentist do this to add onto the teeth beside my front teeth cause the adult ones came in very small and were accentuating the size of my front teeth. The bonding came out really great and he always compliments himself when I go in for a cleaning haha
