How I made my hubby’s birthday special (at Couple’s Resort, Ontario, Canada)

My husband deserves all the stars in the sky ❤. Unfortunately, it’s pretty hard for me to make it happen so for his birthday I took him to Couple’s Resort in Whitney, ON, Canada. I got him some engraved gifts and made a birthday cake (my first birthday cake) so I’ll say that it’s almost like at least a couple of stars from the sky 😃.

When the day had come (Friday), we were very excited for our road trip to Muskoka and stay at Couple’s Resort in Canada. When we got there, after a very warm welcome at the receptionist’s desk, we went straight to the restaurant to order our dinner and breakfast for Saturday. We asked for room service for both of them, because why not ☺. We were very pleased that we can stay in the room and have a quiet, romantic dinner and breakfast in bed – just the two of us ☺.

When we got to the room, we were delighted how clean and how convenient everything is and the view from our room was astonishing.

My husband and I are both very picky when it comes to beds, because our backs hurt a lot when we sleep on the wrong mattress and we were extremely satisfied with the bed at the best resort in Ontario. The bed was even better than the one we have at home 🙈. So we need to contact the owners to find out what kind of mattress and brand it was ☺. Even though we had a chat with the owner on the day we were leaving about the “ice hiking” they’re thinking of doing, we forgot to ask about the beds they have, but we will ☺.

When we got all ready and fancy ☺ for our dinner and when the room service brought us our 5 course meal, we had a chance to taste for the first time the venison (meat of a deer), because I ordered “venison medallion” and my hubby got “rack of lamb” as an entree. I cannot leave out our delicious starters: “watermelon salad”, “pork belly”, “crab cake” and “rainbow beets”. My dessert was very “chocolatey” ☺ – the chocolate tower. Everything was very delectable! ☺

Trying my husband’s lamb shank 😀 🙈

I had decided to let my hubby open all three (one gift wasn’t an option for me) gifts ☺ on the first day and I must say, it was very heartwarming seeing him so cheerful with all of them 😍. I had them all engraved to make them more meaningful. I got him the Engraved Watch Box so now his wallet, glasses, watches and keys are in one place ☺. The Custom Yeti Cup was the second gift, which my hubby uses almost every day ☺, from the same store (- personalizedcart.com – they make everything customized so you can engrave whatever you want and make it perfect and unique as a gift for someone you love).

The third gift was a wooden watch from Jord (I wrote about mine when we went for our 3 month anniversary to Montreal). I’m glad that now we both have matching (wooden) watches together ☺. I also engraved this watch for my love ❤ at the back of it, as you can see in the picture below.

During the whole stay at the resort, we’ve been listening to Frank Sinatra and after unpacking all the gifts, my husband asked me to dance with him ❤. It’s always so sweet and precious for me to be dancing with not only my dance partner, but my partner in life ❤😍.

Since all the rooms at the resort come with a private jaccuzi, we’ve decided to take advantage of it and we spent some lovely time there as well ☺.

On Saturday morning, we had a very mouthwatering breakfast which we both enjoyed a lot ☺. I had “eggs Benedict” with orange juice and my love had frittata with smoked salmon, mushrooms and tomatoes with cranberry juice. It was so appetizing that we wanted the same thing on Sunday ☺.

We were so full and satisfied after our breakfast that we spent in bed more time than we had planned to, but for me it was one of the most amazing moments at the resort 😍. We were just laying there, talking and laughing together (as you can see in the video above) ❤. So simple, yet so meaningful. We were very relaxed and I have to tell you that I’ve never seen my better half so relaxed, so Couple’s Resort– you got that something 😃👌.

After a few hours in bed, we decided to get dressed, go outside and explore a little. We took a long walk around the resort and saw the museum and the art gallery studio. The most exciting part though was when we went on a trial and saw the sign that says “use at own risk” 😄.

When we got back to our cozy room, we called the restaurant to order our dinner and breakfast for Sunday and again we had decided to eat in the room with no distractions ☺.

We dressed best for each other (as always) and were ready for our second romantic dinner at the resort. This time we took two “watermelon salads”, “artisan salad” and special of the day “greek quinoa salad” for our starters. As an entree, I took “pad thai” and my husband had “chicken supreme”. We always share with each other our meals so this way we can taste more ☺. We ended our delicious dinner with pumpkin spice creme brulee and chocolate cake for dessert.

Of course, when our favorite Frank Sinatra’s song “When somebody loves you” started playing, we started to dance ❤. It wouldn’t be a complete evening for us if we didn’t drink hot cocoa in front of the fire, as well ☺.

We ordered our breakfast for Sunday for 8:30 and even though we’re not early birds, we were excited to wake up, because of the coming breakfast 😃. The sun was shining so beautifully in our room that it was actually me who hopped out of the bed first (fyi: mostly it’s my love who gets up first) and got us the robes to put on ☺. As I said above, our tasty breakfast was almost the same as what we had the day before: “eggs Benedict” and frittata – only this time with smoked salmon, asparagus and bermuda onions ☺.

Unfortunately, our stay came to an end and we had to end our most relaxing, romantic and memorable time we had at the best resort in Canada. Honestly, we were sad to leave, but we were happy that we had a chance to be there! ☺

All in all, my goal was to make for my husband best birthday ever and when I heard him saying “it was the best birthday I have ever had”, I was extremely happy 😍. Thank you so much Couple’s Resort for helping me make my hubby’s birthday super special! ☺

The weekend after my husband’s birthday, I made him a birthday cake which you can only see (no tasting, sorry 😊) below. My love loved it (luckily 😊).

My husband is my inspiration, my strength and my reason for happiness. He is the love of my life and the best thing that ever happened to me. I adore him each and every day and admire his kind, gentle and sweet heart and soul! Everything is better with him and I’m the luckiest wife in the world! ❤❤❤

  29. What I see and read here, you can be sure that your surprise and plans for your husband’s birthday have been successful. The food looks delicious. I only think if you get everything at once, then the food you eat last will have already become cold, or am I wrong? With the two of you, it should not be more to make it cozy and romantic and to enjoy … I enjoy your relationship with each other, so sweet 🙂 and your fantastic stay at the Couple’s resort in Whitney, ON, Canada.
