Got That Taste Of Burlington {Video}

Burlington is one of my favorite cities in Ontario. V and I have been going there so many times for our dates before and after we got married. In summer and spring, it looks beautiful.

This time we had an opportunity to be there in winter. Even though the weather was not so great, we had a wonderful stay at the Waterfront Hotel Burlington. We also had a pleasure to get the Taste of Burlington. It is a program that features Burlington’s finest restaurants which runs in February/March each year as well as a summer program in August/September. That being said, you still have time to enjoy current program till March 10th.

SB Prime is one of the restaurants participating in this program and where V and I had dinner last Saturday.

Here is the video from our trip 🙂 :

Best Accomodation In Burlington

When we got to Waterfront Hotel, I was very impressed how beautiful the interior of the hotel is. After a very quick check-in and a very nice service, we went to our room. It was on the 6th floor with the picturesque views of the Brant Street Pier and Spencer Smith Parks’ beach and boardwalk. I need to also mention that I really liked how the room looks like inside. Especially the bathroom, which is in colors V and I like the most.

Intimate & Delicious Dinner

Once we changed, we headed out to SB Prime for dinner. I was pretty hungry so I couldn’t wait to get there. Luckily, it was only a three-minute walk from the hotel. When we got there, we were impressed that the restaurant has a very cozy, intimate setting with a great atmosphere and music.

Our appetizers were so delicious. I had Winter Rainbow Harvest Salad which was very crunchy and I always like a good crunch. V had Buffalo Chicken Cakes which he enjoyed a lot. Next, my Grilled Salmon was so juicy and mouthwatering. It is served on herbed mushroom risotto topped with lemon dill beurre blanc. V ordered Chipotle Flat Iron steak marinated and topped with chipotle sauce, served with french fries. His fries were so good that even though I had my salmon, I was stealing his fries many times. They were too good. To end our experience, we were served by the chef himself Green Tea Ice Cream and Chocolate Grand Marnier Creme Brulee. These are our long time favorites so we couldn’t go wrong with that. We are also sure to revisit SB Prime in the future.

The Sunday I Was Looking For

After being away from my husband, I was so happy to spend with him such a wonderful weekend, especially Sunday.

We had a very good night sleep and I woke up without any headache, which was amazing. I’ve been sick lately. I was in a very good mood and ready to start the day while letting V to sleep more.

We went for a buffet breakfast pretty early, only a little after eight. As we got there, there weren’t many people, which worked for us very well. We both had some scrambled eggs, potatoes and an omelette. For our second round, we got some fresh fruits, yogurt and croissants. Everything was very tasty.

What I really like about this hotel is that the check-out is at 12 pm. That gives you the opportunity to relax before heading back home. Once we were in our room after breakfast, I made myself coffee with Keurig pod coffee & tea brewer, which is already in the room. So convenient.

Overall Experience

This past weekend was so amazing that I had a chance to spend it with the love of my life in my favorite city. The whole Taste of Burlington program is so great that we would love to be back there for their summer program. The hotel was so nice and so clean that the whole experience was very memorable.

For anyone that is in Ontario, I highly recommend to visit Burlington, because as I’ve mentioned before, it is one of my (and V’s) favorite places to visit!

  1. I can’t believe you managed to eat a dessert as well … 😉
Everything looked very delicious, and the view from your room … you will HAVE to go back in summer! 🙂

      1. Lol! 😁 I cannot say no to green tea ice cream (no matter what!) 😃💞

  2. Great photos and enthralling descriptions. I only have been following your journal since late last year, though every trip you’ve taken “with” us seems to delight all the senses. You’re excellent at conveying the magic. Elaborating on a previous writer’s comment, it’ll be wonderful to view your destinations this summer, when everything’s lush and glorious sunshine abounds!

    1. Aww thank you so much, I was so uncomfortable at first and afraid they don’t look good on me 🙈☺🌻

  3. It has been decades since I was in Burlington and I doubt i would recognize anything now. I grew up in Brantford, not that far from Burlington, but we didn’t go there often. Your video was great to watch, but you made me hungry with all that delicious food. 🙂 Thanks for sharing.

    1. Aww you should visit again then! 🙂 Thank you so much for watching! 🙂🌼

      1. You are welcome. Since I hit my 70s, when I go anywhere I like to take the back roads and steer clear of the 400 highways, but some places take a little too long to go that way. I prefer to stay away from cities, especially large ones, and stick to the country roads and small towns. But maybe someday…
