We all have our own favorite celebrities and each of them look ideal to us, even when they’re wearing normal clothes and trying to hide from the paparazzi. We look to these celebrities to find inspiration for our outfits and even pretend to consult them when we are confused about what to wear.
If you want to be able to dress up like your favorite celebrity, you don’t need a personal stylist to help you always look on point. Here are some steps you can take to bring out the celebrity in you without the assistance of a personal stylist:
Play With Different Styles
When it comes to fashion choices, celebrities are known for experimenting with varying styles, proportions, and colours. You can be as adventurous. Simply note the hemlines and sleeves of your outfit and keep them balanced with your accessories. For example, you can wear a long-sleeved blouse with a short skirt and ballet flats. Or you can wear long vest over a short shift dress and cap this off with ankle boots.
Wear Monochromatic Outfits
Dressing in one hue is a chic choice. Many celebrities choose to go monochromatic especially if you want to draw attention to an accessory or a hairstyle. It doesn’t have to be a dull ensemble, as you can see that there are many monochromatic outfits that look really fashionable, like a white jacket on a white dress or on a black top and a black pair of skinny jeans and black boots. For formal occasions, monochromatic dresses are the default choices. It doesn’t have to be the same exact hue, too. You can choose varying shades of pink, or check out nearby dress shops for one of those white prom dresses 2019 styles.
Wear A Pop Of Color
Unless they’re trying to hide from the media, celebrities love to dress up in colourful pieces or have at least one piece in their outfit that pops out. For example, red heels paired with a monochromatic outfit or a vibrant orange bag with a simple top and skirt.
Mix And Match
Mixing prints and patterns can be a bit risky but we see a lot of celebrities pulling this off. If you do decide to mix and match, make sure to not go overboard. You can wear ensembles with the same print or you can wear different prints that share the same base color. You can also try similar prints in varying sizes like a top with thin black and white stripes paired with bottoms that have wider black and white stripes. You can also mix and match items with colours that are beside each other on the colour wheel.
When wearing a dress or short skirt, top the ensemble with a longer layer. A simple coat that is at least some inches longer than the dress you are wearing will be a celebrity-worthy complement. You can wear a monochromatic dress with a neutral colored duster-length sweater.
Wear A Statement Coat
While you’re at it, choose a layer that is loud enough to make a fancy statement. Dressing up like a celebrity means wearing a statement coat. Because coats are very visible and often are the only pieces of clothing that is seen by other people, then make sure that you’re wearing something that catches others’ attention. Some statement coats you can give a try are an oversized puffer coat in pink, a short fur coat in white, or a studded long black coat.
To top it all off, celebrities look good because they are confident in what they are wearing. Channel the confidence of celebrities and spread the vibe.
Having known these tips, you can now confidently dress up like your favorite celebrity, and make fashion-forward choices.
