5 Simple Ideas To Boost Your Wellness

Wellness is about prioritizing your mental and physical health as much as you can, seeking to put self-care at the top of your to-do list. Life doesn’t always make it easy, which is why it’s important to have coping techniques to deal with stressful times. For a few simple ideas to boost your wellness and de-stress, make a start with these five.

1 . Write A Journal

Writing in a journal is a largely therapeutic pastime, it’s creative, reflective and a very worthy act of self care. You might like to use a journal to write down your cherished memories and experiences? Perhaps you’d prefer to brainstorm your career and personal goals?  Some people like to use a journal to write down their feelings during times of emotional stress. It’s nice to have a place just for you, to write down your uncensored thoughts in complete honesty.

2. Experimental Cooking

Always feel like you’re cooking the same old dishes? Why not get experimental, buy some new recipe books and set yourself some new cooking challenges. You could challenge yourself to cook dishes from around the world, choosing a cuisine from a new country each week. If you’re a meat-eater, you could learn how to cook some tasty new vegetarian dishes. Fancy yourself as a bit of a baking whizz? Why not attempt some tricky new cakes and pastries? A keen interest in cooking encourages us to learn more about nutrition, plus it’s a super wholesome and fun hobby.

3. Try A New Sport

Going to the gym is well worth the effort, but sometimes it can feel a little monotonous. For a real wellness boosting activity why not try a new sport? Stand up paddle boarding is very on trend right now, it provides a work out for your whole body and helps to improve strength. Perhaps there’s a local basketball or tag-rugby team in your area that or you could check out? When you are attempting a new sport, pre-work out supplements can be really handy to give you a performance boost. For more information on this take a look at muscle rage.

4. Reconnect With Nature

Our lives are increasingly dominated by technology and while there are so many benefits to this, there are also a few drawbacks. The most notable drawback is that we tend to spend less time connecting with the natural world around us. It’s a shame, because spending time amongst nature is proven to improve your wellness levels. Make it your mission to forge a connection, whether it’s regular walks in the forest, fresh water swimming or a mountain hike. Indulge in bike rides, try kayaking, and allow yourself to feel peaceful and calm.

5. Read New Genres

Finally, studies have indicated that readers are happier than non readers, what a great excuse to become a bookworm! If you tend to always read the same type of books try branching out and exploring new genres. You might even like to join a book club in your area, to discuss the things you’ve read with like minded others.
