If you have decided that right about now is the time to pop the question, congratulations! After the year that 2020 has been, a little bit of joy and happiness is what everyone needs, and planning for a wedding is certainly something that fills most people with that!
Before you get too ahead of yourself with the wedding planning though, there is one crucial thing to do: propose. After all, you both need to be on board for the wedding to go ahead! Being proposed to is a pretty important moment in anyone’s life, so you need to get it just right.

Everyone will want to look at the ring once the news is out, and it is something that your (hopefully!) soon to be wife or husband will wear for the rest of their life, so here, I am looking at some of the things that you need to bear in mind when choosing the engagement ring.
Have A Budget
Before you proceed on the big hunt for the perfect engagement ring for your intended, you need to consider your budget; otherwise, you won’t get too far. For most people, it is a significant expense and one of the biggest purchases that they will ever make, both in terms of money and pressure. However, that does not mean that you should be putting yourself in a precarious financial position to pay for it. Set a budget as early as possible to give you as long as possible to save up – but stick to what you can afford.
Make It Personal
When it comes to jewelry, nothing is more personal and more special than your engagement ring. Check The Sizing
You choose what you think is the perfect ring. You find the perfect location and you choose the perfect time. Everything goes to plan, and your loved one says yes. You slide the ring onto their finger…and it doesn’t fit. While it can be adjusted or changed for the right size, it is disappointing when you can’t wear it and show it off straight away. It happens more often than you would realise – after all, who knows their partner’s ring size off the top of their head? Somehow, you need to get this vital piece of information before you go ring shopping. How do you do that? Well, that’s one thing I don’t have the answer to!
Ask For Help
Choosing the perfect engagement ring can be a daunting task, so don’t be embarrassed about asking for help. Ask their best friend, their mom, the people at the jewelry store who have a pretty good idea of what they are doing. If nothing else, they can tell you if you are choosing the wrong one!

I would also advise the following: 1) look into estate jewelry, really unique looks, 2) Think about if your fiance works with their hands will the setting hold up, 3) really look at the wearers hands and fingers, if they have a small hand a large ring will look silly, if they have a large hand a delicate setting will be lost. Most of all remember that if you can’t afford thousands it doesn’t diminish your love.
