Growing up in 80s and 90s in Poland, I didn’t have many chemicals or toxins around me. Nowadays, sadly, they are everywhere around us. Having Earth Day this past Monday, I’ve had this idea to write why it is better to choose organic skincare and beauty products over non-organic ones.
Organic Skincare Is Better For Your Skin And Your Health
Whatever you put on your skin, eventually ends up in your body. You often hear: “listen to your body”, but do we really do this?
The human body understands ingredients that comes from the earth (natural resources). However, once you use something man-made, like synthetics or chemicals, your body reacts. As a result, the sensitivities and irritations begin.
Better For Environment
Organic farming practices are more environmentally friendly. Eliminating the use of synthetic chemicals and fertilizers protects our fragile ecosystem. Chemicals and fertilizers have a very destructive effect on our water, soil and health.
When you choose to use organic skincare, at the same time, you make a conscious decision to support the health of our planet. It’s a “win-win” situation.
When I’m at the grocery store, I always reach for organic fruits and vegetables and other products that are mostly in eco friendly flexible packaging. It’s important for me to “feed” my skin and my body with the good stuff. Let’s be clear, it doesn’t happen always, but I always try.
Complements Healthy Lifestyle
I didn’t make any resolutions for 2019, but some new, healthy habits. One of them was that I’ve started integrating more and more organic products into my daily living. It has started with food way before this year, but now extended to household and beauty products. I’ve definitely noticed a difference in an overall health and how my skin looks like. V is impressed every time he looks at my face, noticing how it got more youthful.
As far as I am concerned, what you put in your body is as important as what you put on your body. I always love choosing the simple way, the most organic way and healthy equals happy :).
That’s why, I’ve also come up with the series of posts about clean beauty products, because I find that they are not that hugely promoted as other major brands.
Beauty and health inside and out! 🙂
