6 Reasons Why I Use Menstrual Cup

I always knew that tampons and pads are not safe for women. I was always reading about Toxic Shock Syndrome. I’m not going to lie, I was worried. My sister also sent me a true story about a girl on Facebook. She was changing her tampons often, but she was at the hospital fighting for her life, because of TSS.

When I’ve found out about menstrual cup, I was very happy that there is a healthy alternative. As you know, I’m all about the healthy ways.

If you haven’t heard about it before, I promise you that after reading this post, everything will clear out for you.

Here are 6 reasons I use Daisy Cup:

1. No More Worrying About Chemicals Inside Of Your Body

While using the menstrual cup, I don’t have to worry about chemicals ever again. Feminine hygiene products are exposing you to more than just cotton. Sometimes we do remember to purchase chemical free make up, but we’re forgetting about “down there”.

Menstrual cups are made from natural rubber, TPE, or medical-grade silicone.

2. Everyone Is Covered

Daisy Cup comes in two sizes. That being said, the smaller size would be a perfect fit for someone under 30 and haven’t given birth. Someone who’s over 30 or have given birth should choose a bigger size. The Daisy Double, which is currently on sale has both sizes so that’s actually a great deal.

If you’re wondering, I have started using the bigger size before I turned 30. I usually have shorter periods, but with heavier flow.

3. Way More Comfortable

I had a chance to try a few of menstrual cups and I’ll just talk about the one, which in my opinion is the best one available on the market. I love how the silicone is so soft that it moves with you. You can can jump, hop and skip down the street without noticing it.

I sometimes even forget that I have a cup inside so it’s way more comfortable than tampon and, of course than the pad.

4. Save Your Money

Since a menstrual cup can last up to 10 years, yes ten :). Even though it costs more at first than the pack of tampons, you’re saving so much money in the long run! I’ve also noticed recently that tampons and pads are getting more and more expensive, anyway.

You also save your run to the drug store when this time of the month comes.

5. Save Your Time

I’m not talking only about not going to the store, but going to the bathroom.

Menstrual cups you need to change only every 12-hours. I find it extremely convenient. Also, you do not need to worry about any leakage. Trust me :).

6. Be Green

Using menstrual cups means taking care of our planet. They are sustainable and reduce waste.

Think of all the plastic applicators, plastic wrappers, tampons and plastic-based liners you throw away each month. The good news is you can stop it.

Last, but not least, we women sometimes don’t care if something is practical or not, but if it looks nice, we like it. The packaging of Daisy Cup is so lovely that I don’t keep it hidden, but on the display in my bathroom. Even though I don’t use it every day, of course. The round box has flowers all over it and it looks very pretty. Every time I reach out for it is like reaching for a bouquet of daisies.

I hope that the reasons above are convincing enough, because when I’ve made a decision to purchased my first menstrual cup, I felt like I’ve made one of the best decisions in my life. No joke :).
