As promised, today I’m writing about the types of teas and their health benefits. I’ve mentioned many times on my social media channels and here about drinking tea. Since I was a little girl, I’ve always loved drinking it and for me, the day does not go by without a cup of tea.
White Tea
If I had to choose only one tea, I would always go with white tea. It will always remind me of the times when I was travelling by train (or by bus) for five hours to university back and forth on the weekends (I was studying on the weekends while working during the week). I always had a bottle of white tea with me, a snack and a fashion magazine or books (if I had to study).
Besides the great taste of white tea, it is loaded with antioxidants. It also improves oral health and fights cavities. I think what I liked the most about white tea back then is that it helps you with losing weight. What’s better than a cup of tea that boosts your metabolism? 🙂
This kind of tea boosts fertility and improves reproductive health, may help with fighting cancer, protects brain health and reduces cholesterol levels, as well.
Black Tea
Majority of people drink black tea with milk or cold as iced tea. English breakfast, earl grey and Irish breakfast are some of them. Just like white tea, black tea helps fight cancer. Other than that, it boosts heart health, helps reduces risk of diabetes and lowers the risk of a stroke. Whenever you have an upset stomach or struggling with diarrhea, I would highly recommend drinking a cup of black tea. What I also like a lot about black tea is that it is a great stress reliever and still has some balanced caffeine source if you need it.
Green Tea
You already know that I’m a big fan of matcha as I’ve mentioned it here, which is one of the types of green tea. Some of the great benefits of drinking this kind of tea are helping protect your heart and brain cells, protecting vision and preventing eye disease and promoting bone health. Consuming green tea may also prevent diabetes and Alzheimer’s or memory loss. This kind of tea is also great for losing weight, because it reduces your appetite.
Oolong Tea
Oolong tea, which is partially fermented, is a traditional Chinese tea. Just like the teas above, it has many great and pretty similar health benefits. Since it is loaded with antioxidants, it lowers the risk of cancer. If you’re struggling with eczema, oolong tea might be something you would like to consider, because it reduces the appearance of it. This tea also supports a healthy brain.
Oolong tea reduces the risk of heart disease, prevents diabetes, decreases inflammation and prevents bone loss. If you’re looking for something to boost your metabolism and burn fat, this kind of tea is something you should drink.
Whichever tea you choose or drink daily, you’ll get lots of great health benefits in a cup, that’s for sure. That being said, I recommend to try assorted loose leaf tea variety pack from Oriental blends, which includes ten samples.
