7 Healthy Drinks I Choose

Hydration is very important for our body. Every day, I try to drink four liters of water. I also use an app as a reminder and to see if I achieve my daily goal (there are many of them, I have one called “Water Drink Reminder”). Besides that I have some of my favorite drinks in between. I choose them wisely, because I want to stay as healthy as possible.

healthy drinks

Matcha

I’ve already written about the drinks that are best in the morning, here. Needless to say, most of my days I start with matcha. In a bleneder, I put a teaspoon of matcha powder, half of a teaspoon of honey and one cup of 3.2% milk. Drink is ready and I’m ready and energized to start a day.

Smoothie

For my breakfast, I choose a Fab Four Smoothie (in the picture above). One of the books I got from V for Christmas is by Kelly Leveque “Body Love”, where you can find out more about this kind of smoothies. Long story short, you get protein, fat, fiber and greens which are satisfying and filling for me for about 4 to 5 hours. I also like adding to it some spirulina powder and Green Superfood from Amazing Grass.

Collagen

During the day I like to have a collagen drink, which actually I’m having right now. Collagen has many important functions, including providing your skin with structure and strengthening your bones. One scoop of Beauty Glow Collagen and water mixed together and I’m good to go. I like lavender lemon and tropical hibiscus the most.

Tea

I like almost all the herbal teas out there. Depends on my mood, I choose: rosemary, lavender, peppermint, holy basil, etc.

I’m thinking of writing a whole blog post about different kinds of tea and their properties so stay tuned.

Coffee

I used to drink lots of coffee, at least twice a day. When I met V, I stopped, because he doesn’t drink coffee at all and I wanted to challenge myself and see if I can conquer this habit. I did and I was very happy about it, even though it was not easy at the beginning.

There are some advantages and disadvantages of drinking coffee. I do like it as a drink, especially with my collagen creamer. Sometimes instead of my collagen drink, I’ll just have coffee with this creamer.

Non-Alcoholic Wine

To be honest with you, I’ve discovered such wine not long ago. Alcohol is not good for your health, that’s the fact. Having a glass of red dealcoholized wine on a Saturday night with V is something I really enjoy a lot.

Did you know that non-alcoholic wine has (still) antioxidant properties and of course, less calories?

Cocoa

Hot milk and a teaspoon of cocoa powder mixed together will make you sleep better, because it contains magnesium. Something that I enjoy at least twice a week.

In conclusion, the most important thing is to make healthy choices and stay hydrated. Very hydrated. If you crave soft drinks, try to reduce and replace them with the choices above. After a while, you’ll notice a difference. I don’t crave such drinks at all. What’s more, my stomach makes funny noise after I drink coke, for instance. I haven’t heard that sounds for a very long time and I like it this way :).

I would love to hear what your favorite drink is :).

  1. These are some really great options! I try to drink a lot of water in the day and I love a good chocolate or milk drink 😄

  2. I love tea! Especially when I’m sick. Right now I am drinking throat coat with ecincacea and lemon. It usually does the trick! Great post, thanks for sharing.

  3. Cocoa (raw, not those sweetened cocoa-wannabes) is great, especially in winter!
…Though I have to admit I mainly drink coffee. It is healthy, I know, but I think there’s a point where it stops being healthy – and drinking over a litre of it a day, I think I go way past that point ^^’
But I’m a good girl in summer, drinking tonnes of water, so there’s that!

  4. Looks like a great list for people who want to spice up their drinking habits, and many of the above have great micro nutrient profiles that our bodies really need. For me, I rarely drink anything besides water, besides my shakes and smoothies (which I see more as a meal).

  5. Hands down hot cocoa and turmeric milk for me during the winter, you should definitely try adding moringa powder to your smoothies, it has amazing health and beauty benefits.

  6. these are good options, and yes you should do a whole blog about different kind of tea 🙂 Speaking healthy I like chamomile and ginger….Not very healthy wise, I love Turkish Coffee and Wine (Alcoholic) mainly Red and Rosé

  7. Sounds like some good drink choices there, though milk is definitely off my list due to allergies. I have switched to drinking more water now, though I still like a couple cups of coffee for breakfast! I also love herb teas, my favorites are just plain mint and raspberry leaf tea which I make myself, it’s also excellent for soothing an upset stomach. Great post!
    Steve.

  8. Thanks for the article. Very informative. Tea is my personal favorite, sencha (Japanese green tea) being tops, IMO. Congratulations on getting your coffee habit under control. I can appreciate what a challenge it as, as I gave up soda a couple years ago, You’re right, it’s particularly difficult at first. For me, the caffeine withdrawal was brutal, and I never thought I’d make it without “my” Pepsi, but two years later, here I am.

  9. These are great choices! Usually I drink my water mix everyday while at work. I add lemon juice, sometimes lime juice, a capful if aloe Vera gel to help balance the body’s pH and aids in better digestion, and a capful of apple cider vinegar for energy and improved heart health. I love it! Thanks for sharing! 😁👍🏾

  10. I don´t like tea. I prefer coffee, twice for day . I don´t drink coke. ” I try to drink four liters of wáter”, its very much. What is matcha?
The wine is great from timen to time, for example en the meals for weekend

  11. Ooh, those are some great choices!

I’m mainly all about the water but I do like my tea — it helps me relax at the end of the day!

Peppermint tea is sooo refreshing 🙂

  12. Love this post! I just posted about my go to protein morning smoothie and it’s the best thing to keep me satisfied for hours. Also, love that book too!!

  13. Nice post…for me, Polish carrot juice when i am in Polska ( Stays fresh only 24h, so most likely this is freshly squeezed, the one in the glass bottle, i am sure you know which one i mean ), grapefruit squeezed juice, mineral water, in the morning just water from kettle with few drops of lemon and honey. cacao rarely, orange juices especially when i am in Spain.

I am vegetarian more than 20 yrs, when i met with the Hare Krishna cuisine i gave up beer wine etc ( most of the alcohol is NOT vegan btw ! ) and i n e v e r missed it : for me this is simple…one cannot give up something if there is nothing more attractive , tasty to replace it !

One can force himself not to drink coffe for some time blabla, not to smoke etc, but then…
If there is no “higher taste” one will be back to addictive behaviours again…

    Greetings,

  14. Fab post as usual. My favourite drink at the mo is peppermint tea and black sweet coffee.

    1. Thank you so much! Actually don’t know the names 🤦🏻‍♀️, but whichever is there will be good, I’m sure of that 😃🌷
