August felt like one of those months where everything just clicked. Here’s what made it special in our home.
Reading Nooks And Quiet Moments
If you follow me on Instagram, you’ve probably already seen this one. When the house goes quiet, I always find my baby curled up with a book in one of her reading nooks. Yes, she has more than one! :).
Seeing her read makes me so happy. At her age, I couldn’t read even a short book excerpt, so watching her fall in love with books is a gift I don’t take for granted.
Lovevery Play
I mentioned Lovevery in my last post, and I want to show you another game that keeps us busy. Again, just want to say how amazing their toys and games are. Even though Lily grew out of some of them, there are games that we are still playing with together as a family.
Cooking Edition
As you probably noticed, I always share pictures of dishes that might inspire you to cook or try something new :). Here are a few dishes that stood out last month:
- My mom’s liver. I can’t wait to make it again. It tastes like home, and my husband and Lily both loved it, which made it even better.
- Steaks. Simple, satisfying, and a good reminder that you don’t always need a complicated recipe.
- A different take on tiramisu. I tried a twist on the traditional version, and I think I’m sticking with it. Once again, everyone at the table approved.
I would also love to mention that this Cast Iron Always Pan is the one that I used the most last month, and I’m so happy with it. It’s made with cast iron and very easy to clean. If you’re looking for one, I can’t recommend this one from Our Place enough.
Our Walks
The weather was wonderful, and we spent as much time outside as we could. Lily discovered some new insects, and we have no idea what it is. If you know, please let me know in the comments :).
Iga Swiatek At The National Bank Open
I really enjoyed watching Iga Swiatek at the National Bank Open in Toronto on TV, and she went on to win it! Great tennis as well as some other talented players. I love watching games with my family, especially when we have an easy choice who to cheer on.
Silo
Last but not least, my husband and I finished the latest season of Silo on Apple TV+, and for me it was the best one yet. No spoilers, I promise. When we started season 1 back in 2023, I had no idea where the story would end up by season 3, and I think that unpredictability is exactly what makes it so good. If you haven’t watched it yet, I highly recommend it.
