To be completely honest with you, I thought that the third trimester of my pregnancy will be much worse. After seeing and listening to other mamas out there, I heard many not so exciting things. I have to tell you though that the last three months were pretty great ones.
Weight
In my second trimester, I gained lots of weight. I was afraid of what’s gonna happen in the last part of my pregnancy. If I continue eating like this and craving so many things, I won’t be able to move. I couldn’t be more wrong. I was very happy, actually, to discover that my constant hunger went away. I wasn’t craving certain things as much as I used to earlier. With that, my weight wasn’t going up as it was a few months ago.
Movement
You’re definitely bigger at the end of your pregnancy. Again, I’ve heard many complaints about it. How hard it is to do things, etc. I was definitely not able to move as fast or do as many things as I used to. Nevertheless, it was much better than I thought it would be.
Indeed, my legs were getting tired very fast. I wasn’t able to stand for a long period of time. With a little break here and there, I was still doing things I wanted to do. That was a really nice surprise for me (and V) :).
Swelling
If I had to complain about something, it would be swelling. I’ve never seen my feet or my legs as big as I saw them lately. There was a solution to that though. Having husband that massages you every day before going to bed was the best thing that could ever happen to me during this pregnancy. (Daughter, if you ever read this, know that your daddy was a person that your mommy wouldn’t be able to do that without!) 🙂
As far as I am concerned, the whole last trimester is not bad at all. The waiting game begins once you hit 38 weeks. Here, you need a lot of patience :). V & I are so ready for her and we seriously cannot wait to welcome her and hold her, hug her, kiss her, watch her… but hopefully the day will come very soon.
