December 2025 Favourites: A Memorable Christmas And New Year's Celebration ⋆ Simple Ula

To describe our December 2025, let me use my daughter’s words: “it was the best Christmas and New Year’s Eve ever”! 🙂

Our new plants (as if we don’t have enough already) 🙂

Last month was very fun and celebratory. We went to Upper Village Canada – this actually became our tradition, because we went there third year in a row now. You can see the reel of our visit that I posted on my Instagram, here:

I also tried something new that month which was integrating some Polish into Middle Eastern food. I made some beef kofta, which my family and I really like (I finally nailed the recipe), and decided to make wraps with it, but instead of pickles, I added some Polish beet with horseradish. End result? It was very good, and all disappeared very quickly :).

Speaking of food, we also enjoyed my creation of a Thai meal, which you can see below. There’s broccoli, peppers, chicken breast, pearl rice and lots of seasonings :). Yum! Cannot make it again – well, probably tomorrow that’ll be our dinner :).

Now going back to our Christmas celebration, we had so much fun. As always, watching Christmas movies, drinking hot cocoa, and playing lots of board and other games. It truly was one for the books! 🙂

This globe for kids in the picture above was such a great gift for Lily. She likes playing with it all the time, and at the same time, she’s learning about the world so much. I love it!

Of course, before Santa came, we made some cookies for him, and pierogis (my favourite!) for Christmas Eve!

When it comes to New Year’s Eve, well, we had a party! We decorated our downstairs, grab the best snacks, made some good food and watched fireworks in Warsaw and London since it’s 6 and 5 hours before midnight in Canada, and Lily won’t be staying up so late :). We had a blast!
