3 Months Later… Postpartum & Lily’s Update

I can hardly believe that Lily is already 4 months old! 🙂 The time now is so much sweeter with her, because she smiles and laughs even more than she used to! We can play with her and do so many things, like reading books and so on. All in all, I say she is spoiled with love by her parents :).

Some Stats

At the end of the third month Lily weighted 15.3 lbs, that’s a lot for a baby girl at this stage, but I think that’s a good thing. Also, you don’t see it at first, because she’s a tall girl (63.5 cm), like her mommy (and daddy) :).

Me, on the other hand, well, I’m happy that I lost a little bit of weight and it’s going down all the time so it’s promising.

Sleep & Eating

One thing for sure, Lily loves mommy’s milk :). When we went to the doctor for our 2 month’s visit, the doctor asked me if I only nurse her, because she gained so much weight :). Again, I’m very happy about it that I don’t have any problems when it comes to it. The only thing is that Lily loves eating at night and she still wakes up every 3 to 4 hours :). To be honest with you, I got used to doing some things at night while she’s nursing. Sometimes, though, I do look like this:

Another thing is that our little precious didn’t sleep alone in her crib so I held her through the night and she slept on me. No worries, I was sleeping too. I loved it and I know that in a year or two I’ll be missing it :). Also, daddy had his shift too :). Now, though, she sleeps on her own! 🙂

Luckily, we didn’t have any problems with Lily sleeping overnight. Only the first night at the hospital was hard, like I mentioned here. Other than that, she will always sleep peacefully through the night, waking up only for a feeding or two (or three) :).

Temperament

Lily is a very content little girl! Sometimes I think maybe it’s because of all the laughs I had during pregnancy with V. I was laughing out loud so often, because of how big I was and couldn’t move around how I used to… :). Anyway, it always brightens my heart to see a smile on my daughter’s face! It’s the best thing ever and she makes all the stress and worries go away very easily (especially with the whole pandemic) :). She really is our sunshine on a cloudy day (if there are any clouds) :).

Milestones

Our little girl LOVES talking. Especially when it’s time to go to sleep or for a feeding. She would stop nursing and would tell a story after story (if you follow me on Instagram, I’m sure you saw it). We do love talking back to her and we can go like that for a very long time. We have some serious things to talk about :).

She’s a one strong girl! She loves being on her tummy and picking herself up. I’m pretty sure that she’ll creep very soon. Unless she goes straight to walking.

Favorite Products

I’ve mentioned all the products she loved during the first two months and longer in this video. On top of that, this LEAF Grow from Nuna with toy bar (in the picture below) is something she loves spending time on (if mommy or daddy doesn’t hold her) & sometimes falling asleep in. It also makes our life so much easier when we need to get some stuff done. Plus, it will be useful for a very long time :).

Mom’s Update

The first two months post pregnancy were not easy for me. It took me over 60 days to heal after delivery. I had a serious laceration and the healing part was a nightmare. While I was breastfeeding Lily, it was very hard for me to easily just sit and do it. Some days, I was taking pills one after the other and the pills for me are the last thing I’ll reach out for.

Even after 3 months when I think about the pain I had there, I still feel it. I was thinking back then that it will never stop. On top of that, I had to deal with hemorrhoids, which are very common after vaginal delivery. Oh my goodness… it is still hard for me to write about all these things, because it all comes back to me. Nevertheless, I’m feeling so much better and I have had much more strength to play and take care of my daughter and that was and is the best thing for me! 🙂

I still take my prenatal vitamins and drink LOTS of water. Luckily, my weight slowly goes down so I’m pretty happy about it, but I didn’t start any exercises/ workout, because I wanted to heal completely. Now, on the other hand, I’m on top of the game (I will write all about it) :).

A huge help and support, that I won’t take for granted, these first three months was (and still is) my husband. He was the one that was doing everything: cooking, cleaning and taking care of his two girls (Lily & I). I’m so happy he took the parental leave and is still with us at home. Thank you, my love! 🙂

  1. Enjoy the journey. It goes by so quickly. It truly is a blessing to see these little miracles grow into their own being. Thank you for sharing, it brought back memories only recently gone by.

  2. Awww Congrats! Glad you are also healing up! I had stitches myself last year for one very big head, if you know what I mean, ouch! So totally, totally worth it though! Amazing to see you posting here already, you are a super mom (but aren’t we all super? How do we do it?). Sending you plenty of good energy and warm wishes!!!

    1. That’s so true! All moms are super! 😃👍💓 Thank you so much, Meno 🌸 and hugs for your little one 🙂

  3. Lily is such a lovelly little girl, but no surprise with two good-looking parents like you and V!

You are two lucky girls, Lily and you, to have such a great guy like V. as husband and father! I am impressed V! It is so positive when fathers also take interest in their children, it is still not the usual situation. I mean, it is a whole different family feeling, isn’t it?

    1. Yes, you are 100% right!!! Right now, V is holding sleeping Lily… 🥰. Thank you so much, Stella! 🙂💓

  4. She’s beautiful!! Congrats again and enjoy this time. It’s goes by so quickly. Also, give yourself permission to heal and take time off 🙂 I never feel fully like myself until at least 6 months or so postpartum. It took 9 months to put on the weight, it should take that long to take it back off 🙂 You will be just fine. God Bless!

    1. Aww thank you so much!!! I’m so happy that slowly I’m “coming back” 🙂👍💓

  5. I am so glad it is going well for you both – enjoy this lovely time of babyhood ♥️ Your little one is just adorable, I love her eyes – so sparkly and inquisitive 🌿
