Our First Anniversary (part II) in Fern Resort

I cannot believe that it’s been over a year since I married the love of my life. However, it feels like a lifetime to have him by my side. He’s the best person I’ve ever known and everything is better with him. He’s the one that supports my dreams and lift me up whenever there’s a need to. He’s my sunshine on a cloudy day and I love how insanely funny he is and amazing dancer he is behind closed doors. The best part, I would say, is to wake up next to him each and every day. I love him with all my heart and love him for loving me. I’m the lucky girl in this world and I’m forever thankful for such an amazing husband ❤.

We decided to wear our wedding clothes on our one year anniversary 🙂

We both were very happy that we could celebrate our anniversary this year not only once, but twice. (Even though we celebrate our special day every month since we got married.) Fern Resort was a great place for it. We had a wonderful time there and one of the most memorable parts were the mouthwatering food and beautiful sunsets, which we could admire from our balcony.

The funny thing is that on the first day we were late, unfortunately. It’s not like us at all, because most of the time we’re earlier than we should be. Anyway, we had lots of traffic on the way, so we got there after 7pm on Friday and 7pm was the last call to order dinner. During our checking in, the very nice receptionist called the kitchen and made sure we would make it for our first dinner at the resort. We did and the waiters were also super nice and very helpful. It was a great first impression. We were very impressed with the service there and we still are. You always want to be around people who are nice to you, don’t you? 🙂

When we got to our suite, things got even better. We both really liked how cozy it looks, but the best part was the balcony. We instantly knew that that’s the place where we will spend most of our time. We didn’t even unpack yet, but we decided to stay there and watch the sunset.

The next day we were very rested, thanks to a very comfortable bed and head for breakfast and I have to tell you, it was very delicious. My hubby ordered a delicious appetizer and then eggs Benedict and I ordered eggs Florentine. It was a great and yummy beginning of the day.

Later on, we decided to go for a walk around the whole resort. What is really great about this place is that you can never get bored there. There are activities all day long for kids to older folks. Everyone will find something for themselves at any time of the day (except bedtime, of course). Even though, there were many families with kids, which wasn’t a problem neither for me nor my husband, because we love kids, the resort is so big that you can barely see or hear them. Probably it’ll be surprising to some of you, but it is very peaceful and quiet there.

Walking around the resort, we both had so much fun, even though it was pretty hot there on Saturday, we spent outside a lot of time. When we came back to our suite and despite the fact that we already gave each other gifts for our one year anniversary, we did it again. Yes, it was more of my idea, because I just love giving gifts (not as much receiving, but I know that my hubby will never disappoint me).

I’m not sure if you heard about Provenance Custom Gift Studio, but they were nice enough to design just for my hubby and I for our anniversary “Sunday morning box”, where we could find things such as: Organic Ajurvedix Chocolate (which we ate after opening the box, oops), and lots of different delicious loose leaf teas. That was so nice of them and I highly recommend them if you’re looking for custom gift boxes to give for your loved ones.

You’re probably wondering what we got for each other. Well, my hubby surprised me with roses again :). Why? Because he was looking for some time for the white ones, because he knows that it’s my favorite color (yes, I know some people don’t say that white is a color) and when he finally found it and even though he already got me eternal roses, he instantly purchased the 25 white ones from For Always – flower company, because 25 is my favorite number (actually 2 and 5, which makes it 25 :D) so it was very sweet of him.

Me, on the other hand, after seeing how satisfied my love is with his Conair Barber Shop Pro Series, I was happy to get him Conair Rotary Shaver and he immediately started using it at the resort :). That’s how happy he was with it, which was very heartwarming for me. I also made him a little surprised and got a set of wedding bands from King Follet Rings. My hubby is slightly paranoid about losing his real wedding band so I got him this Orignal set of wedding rings and now not only he doesn’t have to worry, but also can switch his rings all the time for any occasion.

After unpacking all these gifts, we headed out for lunch which was a barbecue outside. We had exquisitely beautiful view and our burgers and salads were delectable. After some relax on our balcony, we went to have dinner earlier than a previous day. Our appetizers were so tasty, but our main dishes were very flavorful. I had lamb and my hubby had tandoori chicken and we were both very satisfied with our choices. For desserts we ordered yummy, old-fashioned ice cream sundae.

On Saturday, I was wearing my Calla dress from Henkaa (you can see above), which you can wear in many different ways – which I really like. During the day I made a one-shoulder dress and later for dinner, I changed into an off-shoulder dress. It is so comfortable and suits for many occasions.

On Sunday, unfortunately it was raining all day, but it wasn’t a problem for us at all. We were pretty happy that we had sunshine on Friday and Saturday. Also, this one of the best resorts in Ontario is ready for all kinds of weather, so you won’t get bored. We had an early breakfast, again, no disappointment there, it was toothsome and very filling. Our last meal there was lunch and we left on a very delicious note. My love was very radiant with his order of jerk chicken wraps and I was very fond of with my first fish and chips in Canada. According to my husband, this lunch was the best one he has ever had outside.

We sure wanted to stay longer at this awesome resort in Canada, but we had an amazing time and we always can go back there (yes, it was that great there!) :).

To be honest, we didn’t have a chance to truly unpack all of our things, but who cares, we had a wonderful time there and that’s what we will remember.
