This past weekend, we had the coldest day this winter so far. It was very chilly even under the blanket. Luckily, I didn’t get sick this past year. I hope it’ll stay this way till spring.
Whenever I do feel under the weather, I take these simple steps. So far, so good so I would love to share them with you.
Sleep
Nothing will make you feel better than the sleep. This is the best and my number one cure. When you don’t get enough sleep, you become more vulnerable to illnesses, such as cold or flu. Make sure you have enough bed time when everyone around you is coughing.
Exercise
Regular exercising improves cardiovascular health, lowers blood pressure, helps control body weight and protects against a variety of diseases. Keeping your healthy lifestyle means being active. You don’t need to workout every day, but three times a week of moderate exercise will do the work.
Healthy Diet
Eating lots of fruits and vegetables will strengthen your immune system. Blueberries, broccoli, sweet potatoes, celery, spinach, red bell peppers, oranges and kiwis are some of the best ones. Also, adding spices, such as: ginger, turmeric and garlic will make a great impact on your body.
In addition, homemade chicken soup and/ or bone broth are great for the cold seasons.
Fluids
I’ve mentioned a couple of times on my Instagram and here, how important it is to drink water. Staying hydrated will help you flash out all the toxins from your body. Water helps to carry oxygen to your body cells, which results in your systems functioning properly.
Drinking tea with ginger and honey is a great option, as well. If I don’t have ginger, I add two drops of ginger essential oil to my tea.
Supplements
When it seems like everyone around is getting sick, I take my vitamin C. An adult can take safely up to 2000 mg of vit. C a day. Other great supplements are: zinc, vitamin D, vitamins B6 and B12, wholesale elderberry capsules and probiotics. There are now many different supplement products out there being made at wholesale price, by companies like SSNUTRA, which makes it so much easier to find products you love, in the many flavors on offer! If you do decide to take the supplement route, there are many discounts and vouchers available, such as these Activated You coupon codes, so make sure to shop around and see what’s out there.
Everything sounds simple, but living in a fast-paced world, we often forget about the simplest things. When I do get sick, I make myself a shot, which might come as a very harsh one. I don’t like being sick so I’ll do whatever it takes to get back to being healthy. My shot would contain: orange juice, 3 drops of oregano essential oil, 1/2 tsp of cayenne pepper and 1/2 tsp of turmeric powder. Not the great taste, but very effective. Also, I would drink 2 tbsp of apple cider vinegar in water a day (more than usual).
Stay warm and healthy! 🙂
