Make Your Home Look Way Better In 10 Minutes Or Less

If you have just had a phone call and you know that someone is coming over then you may feel as though you need to dash around the house trying to get everything tidy. This can be stressful, and you might not end up getting the best result a lot of the time. If you want to turn things around however then you’ll be glad to know that this is very easy to do.

Clear Some Of The Clutter

Everyone has little spots of clutter around the home. You might have a box full of paper, or even a pile of decorative items that just don’t suit the space.  You may not even see these items as clutter because you see them every day, but either way, it needs to be sorted. If you want to help yourself here, then you need to try and take a photo of your home. When you do this, you will be able to see things from a brand-new perspective. This concept applies to the exterior of your home too.

Take Something Away

So many homes have far too much stuff. For this reason, it’s important that you try and limit the amount of possessions you have. If you want to help yourself here, then you need to try and remove one or two items. When you do, you will soon find that your home is much more breathable and that it makes your home really shine. If you don’t want to get rid of your items, then this is understandable, but you can move your stuff to another room.

Let Your Furniture Breathe

Another trick would be for you to take furniture pieces and move them slightly further away from one another. Even just a few inches can make the world of difference. If you have the space, then you should certainly give your furniture a bit of breathing room. This will give your home a much airier feel and it will also make your rooms feel bigger. Pulling your furniture a couple of inches away from the wall can also make a huge difference.

Add Some Flowers

If you look very closely, you will notice that the nicest looking houses tend to have freshly cut flowers. Sometimes a touch of natural liveliness adds a lot of texture to a home and it also softens a lot of the lines in your modern space. Having fresh flowers all the time can be expensive, but you can easily achieve the same effect by having a houseplant. This will (hopefully) be a one-time purchase. If you want to make your flowers look the best then make sure that you invest in a good window cleaning service.

Of course, if you want to make your home clean without having to worry about putting the work in then it may be worth hiring a professional cleaner. When you do, they will take care of everything for you so your house is always presentable should someone turn up unannounced.

  1. I’ve never thought about taking a picture in order to see the unseen clutter. What a great idea. I love the fresh flowers too. They truly add a nice pop of color.

  2. Love this post! I’ll be using these ideas next time I am cleaning up and decluttering my home. Do you like minimalist posts? If so, you could stop by my blog and give it a read?
