Delicious & Healthy Choice During My Pregnancy (Part II)

Even though I have some (not so healthy) pregnancy cravings, I still try to make a healthy choice when it comes to food. I’ve already shared here that smoothies are one of choices. My second one are overnight oats. Moreover, I know that I’ll be eating them after pregnancy, as well. Oats are great for increasing milk supply when you breastfeed.

Why Oats?

Oats have many health benefits that you cannot say “no” to. They are full of fiber, B vitamins, iron and a host of other minerals. In addition, they stabilize blood sugar levels, relieve skin problems, reduces cholesterol and are rich in antioxidants. Therefore, oats are great for pregnant women and everyone else. That’s why V eats them every day too.

Choose Organic Ones

The important thing is to choose the organic oats. That’s why I’m a big fan of Yumi Organics.

Why I said that is because of glyphosate, a chemical which is used to kill weeds. You can read more about it here. What I’ve found out is that organic products (such as: oats, cereal, etc.) have much less of this content than non-organic products.

The Variety

I cannot have the same meal every day. That’s why I cannot have the same oats day after day. I really like that Yumi Organics offer 4 flavors: blueberry vanilla, dark choco, matcha green apple and apple cinnamon. I also top up mine with many different fruits to make it more fun.

What is the best part about overnight oats for me is that there are very easy to prepare. Empty the packet in a jar, add milk, store in the fridge overnight and voila, you have a healthy and filling breakfast the next day.
