It’s been two years since I’ve married the love of my life. The partner who has always shown me that love isn’t complicated. Love is easy, and overwhelming, and infinitely freeing. I’m forever grateful that God has brought us together.
I was more than happy to go for the first time to the USA with my love and visit the capital of this country. It was V’s idea and he made an amazing choice, again (… ahem, he chose me) :).

Where We Stayed
We were very pleased to be staying at one of the best apartments in the USA. Our three nights stay at Global Luxury Suites was the best possible choice. V and I have to say that it’s way better than staying at a hotel. We had everything we need and we felt 100% at home. To be honest with you, we felt so great there that it was very hard for us to leave this beautiful 1 bedroom apartment.

Our apartment is 5 mins drive from Washington D.C. which was a pretty nice break from a hectic life in D.C. This apartment in Arlington was in a very nice area. It took us only a 3 min walk to get to Wholefoods, Starbucks and Roti Modern Mediterranean. The building itself was very quiet. The garage and elevator work only if you have a fob that comes with your apartment, that being said, we felt completely safe while staying there.

What We Ate
What’s important for V and I is to always eat healthy even though we’re far away from home. We are always on the look out for some great restaurants that offer fresh and healthy food in new places.

We were very glad to find out about Roti Modern Mediterranean that has delicious food, such as: 100% grass fed beef, organic chickpeas and non-GMO rice. It was really nice to dine in and take out with their delicious meals. Also, V and I like Mediterranean cuisine and I’m 3.7% Greek so no wonder there that it’s my top choice :).
Our Saturday Walk
Since on our first day in Washington D.C., we parked our car close to the Union Station, we instantly decided to visit this place. You can find there a beautiful Columbus Memorial. I really liked it and was happy we went there even though it wasn’t our original plan.

After that, we walked to the White House, which was a pretty long walk. The weather was very nice and we saw way more than we would if we just drove. I was a little disappointed about all the crowd around the White House so it wasn’t as enjoyable as it could be. It didn’t matter that much though, because our walk after it was way more fun. Seeing all the beautiful buildings: museums, statues and fountains. It felt amazing. V even got me my first ice cream from an ice cream truck so it made my day, as well. I’ll skip the part to mention that he ate most of it :).

I had no idea that the Washington Monument will make such a big impression on me. It might be because it is very recognizable, but still I didn’t think I’d like it that much :). I was very excited to see it.

We ended up our walk on Saturday at the United States Capitol, which was another beautiful thing to see in person. It was so pretty that we didn’t want to go back to the car.

The important thing I’d like to mention is that I really like that all the entries to all the buildings are for free, way to go USA!
Sundays Are Always The Best
We had decided to leave Sunday for V’s favorite place. He was there before and he knew that I would love it, as well. He wasn’t wrong. Lincoln Memorial is beautiful! The whole building and the monument are breathtaking!

It was a pretty hot day so it was nice to be there in the shadows. We also spent some time on the side of the monument where there were barely any people and had some lovely conversations. It was the best time of the whole trip for both of us. Being there in this place with the love of my life next to such a meaningful place :).

Our apartment is located about 3 min drive to Pentagon. Since we were so close to it, I really wanted to see this place in person. Unfortunately, we couldn’t take any pictures there, but it was worth the drive.
Great Memories
The whole trip for us was the best one yet. We were also very glad that the weather was great all 4 days, because it was always tricky with us. We left Washington D.C. and Arlington with great memories we will cherish them for a very long time :).

“True love doesn’t happen right away; it’s an ever-growing process. It develops after you’ve gone through many ups and downs, when you’ve suffered together, cried together, laughed together, loved together.” Ricardo Montalban
Thank you so much! That’s a very nice quote! 🙂🌷

Thank you so much! 🙂
You are welcome.
Happy anniversary and, obviously, even the weather had reason to celebrate that weekend!
The next time you visit, I think you’ll really enjoy the National Cathedral. It’s a little off the tourist path — out the Red Line on the Metro, then a ten-minute stroll up Wisconsin Ave. – but the architecture, grounds and masonry are stunning. Plus, all that shady stone is beautifully cooling on a hot summer day! The view from the corner tower is magnificent, too. Great – now I’ve made myself want to go back!
Oh, and nearby is the Marjorie Merriwether Post mansion. Once home to the breakfast cereal heiress, now home to a stunning collection of Byzantine art – for that 3.7% of you that’s Greek!
Thank you for your suggestions, next time!
Congratulations, keep the love burning! ♥️
Thank you so much! 🙂💕🌺
You’re welcome! 😘
Happy belated anniversary 🎉💍
Thank you so much! 🌹🙂
