Curating A Party Guest List For Your Little One

There’s nothing quite like hosting a celebration for your child’s birthday. If we’re lucky, we can remember when our own parents or guardians gave us a celebration for a milestone birthday in our past, be that the time we had a home party, went on vacation, or enjoyed a trip to the local fast food joint or bowling alley. The truth is that all of this is ginormous fun as a child, which is why you don’t have to sweat so much about hosting the most expensive party with the most incredible entertainment – a child will have fun regardless.

So, almost no matter what you do, some helpful party supplies and a safe venue can be enough to host a memorable event, no matter your budget. That being said, sometimes it’s good to be mindful about who to invite to the party. This is because not everyone in their peer group will be appropriate. Let’s consider how to make those tough decisions, below:

Don’t Invite Out Of Obligation

It’s easy to invite out of a sense of obligation, perhaps you’ve had an invite from someone in your child’s school year and though you didn’t go, you feel like they should come too. Well, remember that this is your party. If you know a guest might not be suitable or well-behaved, you are well within your rights to avoid the invitation. You don’t have to play politics, just do right by your child.

Consider Appropriate Date & Give Fair Notice

Keep the parents in mind here, and pick a date and time that works for most families. Weekends are usually ideal for obvious reasons, but they have to be asked in advance, at least 2-3 weeks but a month is usually a nice timeline. It’s also important not to invite them to a place that requires heavy expense, it’s good form to pay for the venue and catering while there for everyone. If not, have a simple home party. You can find the best party supplies at affordable rates in advance, too. This timelines gives you space for everything to arrive.

Consider Adults Per Number Of Children

Having at least one adult per roughly three to four children can be important, especially if other parents are trusting you to take their children out to party venues. That might include enlisting your relatives and trusted friends, make sure they’re responsible adults you would leave your own child with, and make it very clear to the parents who they are and let them come to meet them before dropping their child off. If they want to come, of course, that’s essential too. This way, you can make sure children stay safe, any issues are quickly resolved, and you’ll keep the little ones absolutely safe while in public.

With this advice, you’ll be much more likely to curate that perfect party guest list for your little one, and to ensure a wonderful birthday or celebratory experience takes place. You wish you the most enjoyment, you’re sure to have a blast!
