Choosing clothes online doesn’t need to be impossible or difficult. In fact, with these top tips, you can be sure to find clothes that fit you without having to worry about a thing. If you want to find out more then take a look below.

Know Your Own Measurements
If you shop for clothes on a regular basis then you will probably know that the size you choose will vary on the brand or even the manufacturer in general. If you want to know for sure then you can easily take your clothing items to the dressing room and try them on, but when you shop online you really don’t have this level of luxury. To get around this, you need to take out your measuring tape and you need to work out your bust, waist and your inseam. Sometimes it helps to work out your hips as well, depending on the clothes that you are buying. When you have done this, you then need to check to see if the website you are buying from has a size chart. Some stores will carry multiple brands so the size charts will be different. If you don’t see the sizes you need then don’t be afraid to go right to the designer site. Usually you will find whatever measurements you need on there and this can really help you to make the most out of your overall experience.
Reviews
Customer reviews are very valuable, and they give you a real perspective on the piece that you are thinking about buying. When you read through all of the reviews that you have in front of you, you need to look out for comments that include size, quality and fit. If you know that everyone is saying that the clothing items are too small, or too tight then this gives you the idea that you might need to go a size up, so it is worth taking that into account as much as possible.
Research Material
The feel of the material can sometimes be just as important as the size. After all, there is nothing worse than finally getting the item of clothing that you have wanted so badly, only to find that the fabric is rough and just not comfortable. You can’t touch the fabric when you are buying online and sometimes you won’t be able to return it based on the feel alone. For this reason, it is a good idea for you to familiarize yourself with the fabric based on the wardrobe you have now. Go through and find fabric that you like the feel of, and also look out for fabric that makes you feel uncomfortable. When you do this, you can then make a note of the material composition and you can also choose fabric that is right for you.
Catwalk
To say that photos can be deceiving is a complete understatement. If you have the chance to see a piece on the catwalk then make sure that you view it. Sometimes sites upload videos of their clothing items being worn by a model and this can give you a great idea of how the clothes look. After all, video can’t be edited as much as photos and you would be surprised at how much of an impact it could have on your overall decision.
Flexibility
You really do need to be aware that sometimes the color you see on your screen will not relate to the color you see in real life. Sometimes stores edit their clothing so that it looks brighter, or duller. On top of that, the screen that you are viewing the item from will also change the color. If you want to help yourself here then it is a good idea for you to visit https://setapp.com/how-to/how-to-take-screenshot-record-on-mac. This link will show you how to take screenshots on a Mac so that you can view the product across a huge range of devices with ease.
Return Policy
If you have followed all of the above tips, you may still find that you are not quite happy with what you have ordered. Sometimes this happens, but you can easily do something about it by familiarizing yourself with the returns policy. You need to look out for free returns and whether you need to pay to send the item back. Some stores will let you take any online products that you have ordered back to the brick and mortar location, so this is a great way for you to get around that. It’s also worth looking into how long you have to send the product back too because if you only have a few days then you need to decide quickly as to whether or not it is the right product for you.
Take Note
You need to keep a list of all the brands and even the retailers who you like to shop with. You also need to try and take note of the size that you ordered from them and whether or not it actually fit you. This will make the whole process easier and it will also cut out the guesswork. This is ideal if you don’t shop every month and it will also give you the chance to avoid making some of the same mistakes again.
Edit your Cart
When you shop online, you won’t have to spend hours carrying your garments around a physical store. This is great, but it also opens you up to making impulsive decisions. If you want to stop this from happening then you need to try and add as many items to your basket as you can, and then edit them out as you see fit. This will help you to compare and it will also stop you from buying the first thing that you see online as well which can be a major bonus. If you leave your basket with items in it, some stores will give you a discount as well to try and lower their cart abandonment rates, so it’s worth thinking about this.

Great tips, thank you Angel!
Thank you! 🙂🌹
Good advice, Ula, particularly as they match the conclusions I’ve reached after shopping online for years now. I still make most purchases in actual, physical stores, but generous people often give me gift cards every year for my birthday/Christmas.
Definitely agree about colors. Generally, things are fairly close to what’s shown online, but a couple times the shades have been quite different. The first time, I lost, as the shirt wasn’t nearly as stylish as what I ordered. The second time, though – Jackpot! I selected a shirt I thought was, “pretty good” and it literally made me gasp when the box arrived a few days later. It quickly became my favorite, of course, and I still get compliments every time I wear it!
So, it took me 1,756 words to tell you I agree!
I’m glad you do!
