How To Host The Perfect Gender Reveal Party

Gender reveal parties are totally in right now. However you decide to reveal the gender of your baby to your family and friends, it’s the perfect occasion to get everybody together to celebrate your future new addition. And let’s be honest here, you should be making the most out of this quiet time before those sleepless nights and busy days begin. But what should you do if you want to host the perfect gender reveal party, and have a wonderful time with your loved ones in the process? I’ve noted down some ideas here.

Choose A Date

The first thing that you need to do for your gender reveal party is choose an appropriate date. Many people host it at around 20 weeks, when the mid-pregnancy ultrasound is most likely to be. However, this is not always the case, as the technician may not be able to tell what your baby’s gender is if they can’t get the clear image that they need. Choose a date for the big reveal, and make sure that it’s suitable for you and your partner, as well as your loved ones.

Pick A Location

There are many different venues that you could host your gender reveal party, and this is something that you need to consider. One of the most popular locations couples opt for is their home, and you may want to have an outdoor party (if the weather permits it). If it’s getting a little bit chilly, then look into buying a cement fireplace or heater to keep your guests warm. A cozy, quiet restaurant can also be a good location.

Decide How You Will Reveal Your Baby’s Gender

The most important thing, of course, is the gender reveal itself. How are you going to share the news with your family and friends? Perhaps you want to go for the classic balloon pop reveal, wherein you fill a black balloon up with either blue or pink confetti, and pop it to reveal the vibrant color inside. Or maybe you want to have gender reveal cakes, or a box full of blue or pink helium balloons that you release. Think about what you’d like to do here!

Get The Decor Right

The perfect gender reveal party will have some beautiful decor ideas that fit in with the theme. Blue and pink cakes (or other foods) are worth considering, and you could even make blue and pink punches. Banners with gender reveal slogans on will add to the fun, such as ‘He or she? Come in to see’, or maybe your own personal idea if you’re a bit of a wordsmith! Pink and blue fairy lights will add the finishing touches to your outdoor party, too.

So…

There are many ways to make your gender reveal party perfect, and there are plenty of other ideas that you could use if you really want to make it special. However, the most important thing is that you and your loved ones are together, celebrating your new arrival no matter what their gender is. Have fun and be sure to document the day, so that you can show your child when they grow a little older!

If you decide not to have one, that’s okay too. We didn’t have a party, but a quiet celebration with just the two of us… well, three! 🙂
