My Week Without Cooking

Not long ago, I wrote this article about Activeats, where I described my one day with fresh, already cooked meals. Now, I’ve had a chance to actually try a whole week meal plan and not to worry about cooking at all, only concentrate on work this week. I’m actually a little bit sad, because tomorrow is the last day with Activeats.

My experience is exactly the same as last time, I’m just now more convinced that they really make delicious meals since I’ve had a chance to try more of them.

On Monday, I started with Scrambled Eggs with Sweet Potato & Kale and I’m not sure if you’re following me on Instagram, but sweet potato and kale is something I cook very often for my husband and I. We like it a lot! Cajun Chicken with Broccoli Slaw, which I really enjoyed for lunch, because the chicken was nicely seasoned. I ended the day with No Butter Chicken with Pilaf and Vegetable. What I really like the most is that their meals (especially lunch and dinner) always include vegetables and they are either well cooked or raw.

Super food Quinoa Berry Bowl and Sweet Potato Edamame Salad with Tofu were my first choices on Tuesday. When I received the whole order on Sunday, I was very happy to see that sweet potatoes are not only one, but in two dishes that I got. They’re so healthy and yummy. They stabilize blood sugar, are high in antioxidants and boots brain function (and that’s not all) so I can never say no to them. Since Tuesday is often called “Taco Tuesday”, I chose Fish Tacos with Coleslaw for dinner and topping sauces that came with it were great extras for the taste.

On Wednesday, I was pretty busy with my blog posts and new projects so I was very happy I had a chance to have a very fast and fresh cooked meals during the day. You probably don’t know that, but if I have eggs for breakfast, I’m a very happy girl! 🙂 That’s why I’ve decided to go with Scrambled Eggs with Turkey Bacon to make me more happy and motivated before working. For lunch, I had Beef Broccoli Stir Fry with Quinoa and for dinner, Greek Meatball with Quinoa. Honestly, dinner was so good that I wanted to have it over again. I cannot go crazy though, because what I like the most about Activeats meals is that each day I had around 1500 calories so nothing more and nothing less which is great if you want to keep your balanced weight like I do.

Today for breakfast I had Cauliflower Vegan Wrap, which I had an opportunity taste it previous time. I can only tell you that I only got better with handling those wraps, lol. For lunch, I think I’ll choose Chicken Madras Curry Skewers and Quinoa and Thai Cod with Veggies and Rice Noodles for dinner. I have to tell you that it was my first time eating rice noodles and they’re different, but very good so it’s a great substitute for pasta, that is high in carbs.

My last day I will start with High fiber Oatmeal with Seeds, then I’ll have Pineapple Curry Salmon with Veggie & Rice and to end my delicious and healthy week, I’ll have Beef Steak with Vegetables & Rice Pasta.

Like I said before, Activeats is a great option for anyone who wants to stay in shape or lose weight and doesn’t have to worry about cooking.

  1. Spectacular! You’ve found Foodies’ Holy Grail, something that’s both scratch-made and convenient. By the way, you arranged and photographed the food nicely. Maybe your pictures are what should adorn each package!

  2. The food look really delicious and it is a gain of time.
Are the packagings made of plastic? Are they recyclable?
    Thanks for your answer !

  3. The meals sound delicious and it is cool to have everything packaged together, so that you do not have to stress about everyday cooking. Maybe I will give it a go one of these days. xx

  4. I think this is a great idea. First I do not like to cook unless people are around to eat … but I would worry about all the packaging and the environment … I do agree when we are busy, cooking is time consuming and it does take away from what we are doing … Lastly, I love that food always looks so good when presented well and with colours of the season. Thank you for sharing such an adventure … Cheers, Alexis.
