April was one of those months that just fills your heart up — full of family time, delicious food, sweet memories, and even a little bit of history in the making. Let me take you through all the highlights!

Easter Sunday The Polish Way
Easter in our home is all about tradition, and this year was no different. We started Easter Sunday morning the way I love most — with a classic Polish breakfast spread featuring a beautiful Polish salad, hard-boiled eggs, and all the yummy accompaniments that make it feel like a real celebration. There’s something so grounding about keeping those cultural traditions alive, and also making new ones, especially now that Lily is old enough to experience it all.
Of course, I also spent some time in the kitchen baking Polish donuts — and they were a hit! My husband and Lily absolutely love them, and honestly, seeing their faces when a fresh batch comes out of the oven is everything. If you’d like the recipe, let me know in the comments and I’ll share it!

The Easter bunny also paid us a visit, and Lily was beyond thrilled with everything she found. Watching her excitement is the purest kind of joy.

For Easter dinner, we kept it cozy and delicious with one of our family favourites — baked turkey pieces (not a whole bird — ain’t nobody got time for that!), roasted potatoes, and Brussels sprouts. Simple, hearty, and so good.

A Little Mother-Daughter Date In Ottawa
One of my favourite moments this month was a little outing Lily and I had together — just the two of us, at the most adorable local café in Ottawa. I am such a big believer in supporting local, independent businesses over the chains, and this place did not disappoint. There’s something really special about those one-on-one moments with your little one, isn’t there? A warm drink, a cozy spot, and my girl by my side — couldn’t ask for more. Of course, wearing our matching boots, which are actually on sale right now!

Glued To The TV: NASA’s Artemis II Mission
Okay, can we talk about how incredible this was?! NASA’s Artemis II mission launched on April 1st, and our whole family was completely hooked from the start. The mission took astronauts Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and Canadian astronaut Jeremy Hansen on a 10-day journey around the Moon and back to Earth. On Flight Day 6, they completed a historic seven-hour lunar flyby — humanity’s first return to the Moon’s vicinity since Apollo 17 in 1972. We were absolutely glued to the TV. What a time to be alive — and what a blast for Lily who loves learning all about the universe!

Spring Walks & Lily’s Outfit Rec
With the weather finally warming up here, my family and I have been getting outside so much more for walks around the neighbourhood. There is nothing better than fresh air and a change of scenery after a long winter!
On our walks, Lily has been wearing the most adorable outfits from a brand mini mioche I genuinely love and want to share with you. If you’re looking for cozy, great quality clothing for your baby or child made with organic cotton — I highly recommend checking it out.

Did You Catch My Hamburger Reel?
Last but not least — if you’re not already following me on Instagram, head over there! I recently shared a hamburger recipe as a reel and the feedback has been so lovely. It’s a good one, I promise. You can see it here:
What a month, truly. Wishing you all a beautiful end of May — here’s hoping the sunshine keeps coming! 🙂 Drop a comment and tell me: did you watch the Artemis II mission? I’d love to know if anyone else was as excited as we were!
