We’re Having A Baby!!!

I’m so excited to finally tell you guys that I’M PREGNANT!!! 🙂 I think this is the first time I’m writing these words so let me do it again… I’m pregnant! 🙂

V and I are over the moon and we cannot wait to meet this sweet little person that literally our love created. Thank you God for blessing us, we are so incredibly grateful!

The Day I Found Out

It was the second month that we were trying to get pregnant. Since the first time I was thinking I’m pregnant, but wasn’t. The second time I was noticing some signs, but didn’t want to be too excited without the real confirmation.

It was two days before Mother’s Day (I’m at the end of my first trimester). I was still before my period, but I had a feeling that a lot of changes are going on in my body. That’s why one morning I’ve decided to take a test when the pregnancy hormone hCG is the highest. V had already left to work. After about 1 minute the test showed two lines, I couldn’t believe that, but tears had started falling down. I didn’t want to just call V and tell him this amazing news on the phone. I was also prepared and bought (while I was in Poland) baby’s socks (that look more like tiny shoes). I wanted to give them in a box for V as a gift when the time comes.

How I Told Him The Exciting News

I waited 8 hours and they were my longest 8 hours ever. I also remember that V and I was texting with each other during the day and something happened that made V very mad. I was telling him “that’s ok love, don’t worry about it, don’t let anyone or anything make you mad now” :). After he found out, he told me that he was a little suspicious why I was saying things like this, but hadn’t gotten a clue.

When he got back from work, I was so happy! I slowly (very gently) ran to him and greeted him with a kiss as usual, but this time I was a happy big balloon that was trying to pop from happiness. Have you seen “Over the hedge”? There was that squirrel that wanted a cookie… – that was me :).

I had everything set up, the camera, the clothes to change. I did text V before that I just want to take a picture with something when he comes home so he wasn’t surprised when he saw the camera ready.

Once we sat on the bed together and I clicked “record” on the camera, I took out the small, silver box from under the blanket and gave it to V. When he opened, he looked at me and asked me “really?!”. After I nodded my head, I saw happiness in his eyes…

What’s Next?

We are taking it with a smile on our faces day by day. The little baby is getting kisses from daddy and lots of rubs from mommy every day. Our 2nd anniversary was way more special, having this little bundle of joy with us inside of me :).

  25. Best news ever, isn’t it? I actually preferred to test it when my husband was with me, which is a bit different from what’s done nowadays – I just feel that I would be a bit lost if he wasn’t there to hug me while I cried haha When are you due? 🙂

  41. Congratulations! That is so exciting! What a joyous occasion and the beginning of a new chapter in your life. My youngest son and his wife are expecting their first child in 2 week and you two sound just like them. They are so thrilled and every step of this journey is something new and exciting for them. My son has been reading up on being a new father and I love it. Enjoy the journey.
