Staying healthy during our adult lives can be harder than we think, and life often gets in the way of our good habits. It is important to take care of ourselves during the years of our lives whether it be through the way we eat or the exercise we do, and today I want to share a few different ways you can stay healthier and more fit this year.
Here are some of the things you can do this week to help you stay fit and healthy and happy.

Go To The Doctors
The first and one of the most important things you should do when trying to stay healthy is to visit a doctor for regular checkups. Whether you need a check in with a hearing aid specialist, you have high blood pressure, or you have other health issues it is important to stay in the loop with your body and tackle any problems head on before they cause problems. Looking after every aspect of your body is important so make sure that you take this step toward better looking after yourself.
Go To Sleep Earlier
It is important for you if you want to be healthier this year to get more sleep and allow your body to rest. Sleep is an important process for your body and it will bring peace to your muscles and allow your mind to heal after a stressful day. Not getting enough sleep can have many different repercussions for your body and it is so important for you to take the time to get more sleep this week. Once you allow yourself a proper night’s sleep every night, you’ll soon start to feel more energetic and happier as a result.
Wake Up Early
It is important when you want to live a healthier and happier life to ensure that you make the most of every day and live life to the fullest. One of the ways you can do this is by waking up a little earlier each day to start your morning with a fresh mind and a positive attitude. Having an earlier start allows you to make some breakfast, do a workout, or simply stretch out your muscles before the day begins. Doing this will really make a massive impact on your day and on your mental health as a whole.
Start The Day With Lemon Water
One great way for you to start your day this week is with a glass of ice cold lemon water. Lemon water is a great way to boost your metabolism and wake the body up for the day. Lemon will also improve your skin and get rid of any toxins you may have in your body. You can also make it to ice cold as a way of waking up the body and promoting it to burn more calories.
Eat Plenty Of Fruit
Fruit is such an important part of a healthy diet and you should always make the time and effort to eat plenty of it each day. You should be having plenty of fruit every day to help your body get all of the nutrients it needs to thrive. One of the best ways to force yourself to eat more fruit is to buy some on your next shopping list and as soon as you get home chop them up and place them in a Tupperware with a lid. This will allow you to have fully prepped fruit at your disposal at all times, and will encourage you to eat more of it each day.
Create Healthy Snacks
Healthy snacks are an important part of your healthy living routine and throughout the day you should have healthy things to reach for instead of crisps and chocolate. One great healthy snack idea is some carrot sticks with hummus. If you prepare yourself some carrot sticks ahead of time, this is a super simple snack to keep you going and it will be healthy too.
Reduce Carb Intake
Carbs are sadly the most loved part of many meals. Pasta, bread, potatoes… most of us love carbs and saying goodbye to them can be harder than you think. It is time to reduce your carb intake to help reduce bloating and lose weight, and there are some simple ways to do this. For example the next time you eat a pasta dish, instead of filling your whole plate with pasta, fill half of the plate and add a side salad to the other half. You can still enjoy the foods you love just in smaller quantities and this will help you to be healthier overall.
Make Time For Movement
As well as a healthier diet, one of the important things you should do today is make time for exercise. Exercise doesn’t have to be at a gym- it can involve any kind of movement and the key is simply finding a movement you enjoy and making sure to do it each day. A walk around your local park is a great option, as is bike riding, swimming, and HIIT workouts at home. Find a form of exercise that fits with your schedule and make sure you make time for it every single day.
Track Daily Steps
One of the ways you can force yourself to stay healthier this year is to hold yourself accountable at all times. A pedometer app on your phone can be a useful way to track your steps and ensure that you are exercising enough each day. Try to top your daily record each day and this can be a great motivator and it will allow you to burn more calories and lose some of that weight.
Get Sh*t Done
One of the important ways to stay healthy is to look after your mental health. Your mind is a part of the body as much as the body, and you should ensure you relieve the stress on it each day. One way to do this is to stop putting off tasks at home and work and get sh*t done. Don’t let things build up when they don’t have to, and as a result you’ll be happier and healthier too.
