There are early birds who have no bigger problems with waking up in the morning and there are night owls who struggle to keep their eyes opened after they wake up (that’s me).
No matter which one you are, there are some drinks which help you get through the morning in the healthiest way.
Matcha
Let me start with this one, because it’s been six months since I last drank coffee :). (I’m very happy about it, because I could drink 1, 2 or even sometimes 3 cups of coffee during the day and I couldn’t imagine a day without coffee. Luckily, I stopped this addiction [wasn’t easy], but I had a lot of support from my significant other β€ who doesn’t drink coffee at all so yes, I made it. Anything is possible if you really want it! π ).
I replaced coffee with green tea, but in its most concentrated form which is matcha, where you drink the actual tea leaves (powder). It’s “loaded with antioxidants, amino acids, chlorophyll as well as other vitamins and nutrients.” Driking this tea, there are also great health benefits such as: it prevents cancer, promotes weight loss, benefits exercise performance, best food source of disease-fighting catechins, high levels of l-theanine for an alert calm, reduces heart disease risk and hypertension, lower type II diabetes risk and detoxifies the body.
Let me also tell you that I’m not drinking it alone (it doesn’t have the best taste on its own), but one huge coffee company (the one you can see at every corner, especially in big cities) has “green tea latte” and the way I’m doing it at home is just adding milk to it and voila, delicious and so healthy!
Coffee
This drink is so common that I won’t write about it a lot. With coffee there are some health benefits (high in antioxidants, may protect the liver, aids physical activity, supports cognitive function), but there are also some risks (caffeine addiction, can alter mood and increase anxiety).
Kefir with flax seed
It’s the best thing for colon cleanse. In our intestines are toxins and waste which are very dangerous to our health, to get rid of them drinking kefir (benefits are: boosts immunity, heals inflammatory bowel disease, builds bone density, fights allergies, improves lactose digestion, kills candida and supports detoxification) with flax seed (high in fiber) is the way to do it. Mix 1 tbsp (or 1 tsp at the beginning) of grounded flax seed in about half glass of kefir and simply drink it.
Apple cider vinegar
Water, lemon and 1tbsp of apple cider vinegar (and honey if you like) will wake you up with its sourness (trust me on this one, haha). Anyway, there are many health benefits such as: it promotes digestion, enhances immune system, adjusts blood sugar, lowers high blood pressure, cleanses your body, aids weight loss, boosts energy, benefits your skin and improves oral health.
Lemon water
I tried this so many times, but couldn’t stick with it, but maybe you can, because it’s healthy as well to start your day with. Drinking water with lemon has benefits such as: it bumps up the vitamin C quotient, aids in digestion and detoxification, heals the body and rejuvenates skin, helps shed pounds and boots energy and mood.
These are my suggestions to start the day, do you have any others or maybe you start your day already with one of the above? π
I’d like to thank all my readers, because this week I achieved more than 1,600 likes and I have more than 800 followers and I have only 10 (with this one) posts so far, so thank you all so much!!! Thank you for all your kindness! π
I would also like to thank my boyfriend who “gave me wings” to write, thank you my love! β€βΊ
I never became a coffee drinker. Guess the taste was not for me. I drink herbal teas. Usually green or peppermint tea to start my work day. My co-worker brought me some Matcha tea from Argentina. It tastes very good.
I also drink Kefir, Coconut Water, or just plain old H2O during my work days and weekends. You are correct in that Apple Cider Vinegar packs a punch! I leave this for the weekends! Too much tang and sourness! LOL!! π π
Plus I eat yogurt every day which helps my digestion. Thanks for this informative healthy Blog Post!!
That’s great, you drink some good and healthy stuff! π I like coconut water a lot! π Of course, my pleasure! βΊ
Green tea is my favorite. π
π
I’m going to hold onto this list. I’m a coffee drinker so I need a reminder of all of the other healthy drinks available. Thanks!
Great and thank you! βΊ
Great tips.I love lemon water in the morning.
Thank you! βΊ
or plain warm water-minimum 3 glasses first thing!
That’s good as well, I agree! π
Yes, it is strong, but it’s drinkable :).
One day i’ll try it again lol
Great read and I’ll have to try out a couple of those. Thank you for your info.
You’re welcome.
Hi Ula!
Thank you so much for subscribing to my blog today! Where did you find my blog, may I ask? I always wonder. Welcome!
Janice
Hi Janice! π Oh, I’ve found it through other blogs, don’t know exactly which one though. Thank you for visiting! π
Thank you for answering my question and once again, welcome!
π
I need coffee in the morning but in addition to that I don’t mind drinking healthier drinks
That’s good.
That’s great idea.. May I share it?!
Thank you for following my blog.. γγ°γγγγ
Of course, you can share it! π Thank you! βΊ
You’re welcome, Ula.. Thanks so that you liked my post =)
My pleasure! π
Loved Apple cider vinegar one.
Great! π
I drink lemon water, I like the taste. I’ll have to try the apple cider vinegar one. Sometimes I add fruit to my waterπ
Great! π Just know that it’s pretty strong (apple cider vinegar) :).
Alright I’ll keep that in mind, thanks for the heads up π
No problem :).
I drink a cup of green tea by 5:30 every morning (with a slice of lemon – so two good things in one cup!). Then by 6:15 a.m. I have a tea latte: Earl Grey tea, steamed skim milk, 1/2 tsp of vanilla syrup, and foam. A wonderful way to start the morning! xo
That sounds great! π
I love water with lemon. I’ve read about the apple cider vinegar drink but I just can’t bring myself to drinking it.
I know, it’s pretty tough to drink it, I’ll try to drink it from time to time, because every day is too much to handle haha :).
I love my coffee, but I have a glass of grapefruit juice every morning before that first cup. π
Nice! π
A refreshing way to start my day. π
For sure! π
I’m a night owl and an early bird. I think I’m a green tea person. I love tea. And I love your blog.

I love tea as well! π Thank you so much!!! π
I’ve heard of Matcha but never tried it. I would say I’m addicted to coffee as my morning drink but, to me, it’s not really an addiction. I have one, sometimes two, cups in the am and no more all day. My mood seems to be constant and I am never anxious. My wife drinks lemon water every morning and all we use is apple cider vinegar for so many different ills. I have had it for an upset stomach and, though I can’t remember if it did any good, I will always remember the taste.
I try to drink lemon water at the start and throughout the day but I saw a TV programme a couple of days ago which showed the scientific evidence about some positive benefits of the apple cider vinegar and am definitely going to give it a whirl.. xx
That’s great! π
Thank you, for reading my blog. Your blog is full of great information. I am enjoying your posts. I will have to try some of these drinks. I am a coffee drinker, I also drink green tea, lemon with water and vinegar with water (at times). Your list is great!
Thank you for your kind words! βΊ
Hi, Ula! First of all, thanks for following me and thanks for all the likes π
Personally, I always drink a cup of coffee in the morning but I prepare it with an Italian single Moka pot, so it’s around a quarter than a mug. It’s like a less concentrated, less creamy espresso. I don’t drink it to wake me up, but to wake up my bowls :p
I like the taste of green tea and lemon water, but to the first, I prefer a traditional cup of earl grey and the second one I must drink it with caution because of its high acidity. I still have to try matcha, though π
Hi Nina :), thank you for your comment and welcome! π I’m drinking matcha now, so you need to try it, haha :).
Ok, ok. I’ll give it a try π
I like your texts very much. And Matcha is my favorite drink for the morning. :)β‘
Thank you so much! βΊ Mine too! βΊ
Thank you for the follow! I will be trying the apple cider vinegar drink in the morning π
My pleasure! βΊ That’s great! π
I agree, Green tea with all its health benefits is a great replacement for coffee and tea. Great list ! I prefer lemon water !! π
Thank you! βΊ
I totally agrede with your thoughts on this subject. I Am a Night owl myself, and yes Those drinks really Help me through the day.
Great!
I am so glad to know that green tea is lower in caffeine and better for you than coffee. Thanks for the information. Please tell me your secret. How did you get so many followers and likes in so short a time? This is amazing!
You’re welcome π and haha, I guess people like what I write, but also I visit other blogs so they know where to find me βΊ.
Okay. Thanks!
βΊ
I’m a coffee drinker through and through but it is nice to learn about these other drinks – thank you! <3

I’m drinking in all the great information in this post! Diana sent me, by the way.
That’s great! βΊ Thank you for visiting! βΊ
It’s good to learn about so many other drinks that I wouldn’t normally consider. I suppose you’d say I’m English through and through because my favourite drink is tea! Unfortunately, I’m not a fan of herbal or green teas – although my two daughters keep trying to convert me! It was interesting to know just how many vital nutrients are found in some teas. π
Maybe one day you’ll convert βΊ, who knows, right? π
Coffe first thing, it’s a rule with me. I drink different types of green tea later in the day. Diana sent me but I already follow you. Thanks for visiting my blog the other day!π
Thank you! βΊ
I must admit I do like coffee but only drink about 1/2 cup a day. It gives me a jump start. I love green tea, but a dentist’s assistance told me that the stains are really hard to remove from teeth. Jasmine is probably my favorite tea. I’ve tried lavender too. Thank you for posting. π
Oh, I like lavender tea a lot! βΊ
This is so great, I always take water first in the morning otherwise I’ll get cranky and feel weak.

I always start out my day with 20 oz. of water. I love coffee, but since I’m currently breastfeeding making sure I start out the day with something hydrating is critical.
That’s great βΊ, congratulations on your baby! βΊ
Thanks! I was less faithful with my first and my supply definitely suffered.

Thank you so much for sharing my post! βΊ
Quite informative.
Thank you βΊ
I drink coffee and the ACV (separately, of course). The coffee is the reward for getting (and keeping) the ACV down. I will check out the Matcha – looks like a long list of wonderful benefits! I gotta try it!
Matcha is great!
Super informative. I keep telling myself to try apple cider vinegar WITH my coffee- not instead! π
Haha, with coffee or no coffee , apple cider vinegar is good :). Thank you! βΊ
Love “Never Too Matcha” also known as popcorn matcha – has roasted rice blended for toasty flavor – amazing and no need for other additives like milk – try it you’ll see π … I happen to be partners at getloosetea.com and my healthy, diverse beverage lifestyle has never been better – ps – love the diversity of your blog as well … God bless your journey
Hmm, that’s interesting, I’ll try it, thank you! π Also, thank you so much for your kind words! βΊ
I drink water first thing because we wake up dehydrated. I haven’t put the lemon in it but can see the benefits
Maybe one day try with lemon then :).
Yes, I will
Thanks for follow us π
My pleasure βΊ

Hello, Ula! …Had never heard of ‘Matcha,’ nor is powdered green tea available around here. After reading Yours, have decided to try to Chew the Green Tea Leaves after I have made the Brew!
Am going to start on Lemon Water too!
Thanks for the suggestions. Love and Regards. π
That’s great!
So informative and awesome post and a beautiful presentation ππππ
Thank you again!
Drink 1-2 glasses of lukewarm water
Yes, that’s very good too, first in the morning.

I drink apple cider vinegar every day. Great tips. Green tea is the healthiest, although you may want to add that those on blood thinners such as Coumadin, like me, should not drink it. It skews one’s PT/INR which checks to make sure our levels are not too low (risking blood clotting) and not too high which causes internal bleeding. Just wanted to let you know. But, this is a great informative entry. Thank you! π
Oh, thank you so much for such information! π
You’re welcome! π
